OVERVIEW
This major Disney production starring Viggo Mortensen was a logistical marathon. Filmed across vast stretches of the Moroccan desert, it told the story of an endurance horse race. Unlike static sets, this production was constantly on the move, requiring a highly mobile financial infrastructure.
CHALLENGES & APPROACH
Managing “Living Assets” & Mobile Units.
The unique challenge here was the massive budget allocated to animal welfare. We had to manage costs for hundreds of horses, including specialized feed, veterinary care, and transport, all while the unit moved daily across the desert. My role involved strict cost tracking for these “living assets” and ensuring that the mobile unit had continuous access to petty cash despite being miles from civilization.
THE RESULT
The production was a triumph of logistics, proving that we could maintain Disney’s strict financial compliance standards even in the most rugged and shifting environments.
