OVERVIEW
This inspiring feature film tells the true story of the Afghan Girls Robotics Team. Filmed in Morocco (doubling for Afghanistan), the production required creating authentic, textured environments to depict the girls’ struggle and triumph. It was a project that combined emotional storytelling with the logistical challenge of recreating a specific geopolitical setting.
CHALLENGES & APPROACH
Authenticity & Sensitivity.
The challenge was to recreate the specific atmosphere of Afghanistan authentically while ensuring a safe and respectful working environment for the cast. My role involved supporting the art department’s vision to transform Moroccan locations into Kabul and Herat, ensuring that the budget was maximized for on-screen production value to do justice to this powerful real-life story.
THE RESULT
The film is a testament to the power of education and resilience. We successfully delivered a visually compelling and emotionally resonant film, proving our ability to handle sensitive biographical dramas with the same expertise as large-scale action movies.
