OVERVIEW

Produced by Dune Films for 2M’s prime-time Ramadan slot, this 15-episode dramedy captured the zeitgeist of the COVID-19 lockdown. The story followed a couple on the verge of divorce, forced to cohabit and physically divide their house with a wall. It was one of the most-watched series of the season, praised for its high production value and writing.

CHALLENGES & APPROACH

High-End TV Logistics.

Unlike traditional sitcoms, Safi Salina was shot with the cinematic standards of a feature film (52-minute episodes). The challenge was maintaining this level of quality within the tight broadcast deadlines of Ramadan. My role involved managing the budget for a “bottle” production (single location focus), ensuring that resources were allocated to top-tier art direction and talent management rather than travel, maximizing the on-screen value of the “huis clos” setting.

THE RESULT

The series was a critical and commercial success, creating a national buzz. It reinforced my ability to deliver premium television content for the local market, blending cinematic discipline with the fast-paced demands of Moroccan TV.
