Unlike action movies that exaggerate combat, this drama required a “documentary-style” authenticity. The challenge was sourcing specific military props and vehicles that looked worn and real, not like shiny movie props. My role involved managing the budget for these specific art department requirements, ensuring that every dollar spent contributed to the emotional weight and accuracy of the soldier’s experience.
THE RESULT
The film was critically acclaimed for its respectful portrayal of veterans. We successfully delivered the high-quality production value expected by DreamWorks, supporting a serious narrative with precise financial management.
