OVERVIEW
Selected for the Marrakech International Film Festival, Yassine Fennane’s latest feature film explores the intersecting lives of three characters in Tangier facing the complexities of migration and survival. The production required a sensitive and authentic approach to filming in real urban environments, blending established actors with raw, realistic settings.
CHALLENGES & APPROACH
Weaving Multiple Narratives in a Real City.
Filming a multi-narrative drama in a bustling city like Tangier presents unique logistical hurdles. The challenge was to secure diverse locations—from upscale villas to migrant communities—while maintaining a low footprint to preserve the authenticity of the performances. My role was to manage the production logistics to ensure that the director could capture the intimate, human moments of the story without the interference of a heavy technical machinery.
THE RESULT
The film was a highlight of the national cinema year, praised for its humanism and visual storytelling. It underscores my commitment to supporting meaningful Moroccan cinema that tackles urgent social themes with artistic integrity.
