OVERVIEW
This ambitious adaptation required recreating the 19th-century Sudanese conflict in the Moroccan desert. It was a logistically heavy production involving massive cavalry charges, hundreds of extras, and intricate period costumes, all filmed in harsh desert conditions.
CHALLENGES & APPROACH
Cash Flow in Remote Locations.
Shooting deep in the desert meant operating far from standard banking infrastructure. The main challenge was managing the significant volume of petty cash required for daily operations, including payments for local extras, livestock (horses/camels), and on-site logistics. My role involved securing these funds and maintaining rigorous manual tracking to prevent discrepancies in a “cash-heavy” environment.
THE RESULT
We successfully maintained financial stability throughout the remote shoots. This experience honed my skills in managing “offline” accounting for location-based productions where digital banking is not an option.
